This topic encompasses lots of things including cycle paths/lanes/tracks, traffic reduction/calming, one-way streets, bike super highways, parking/storage and disabled friendly.
In the UK we need to learn from the Dutch and Danish, whose respect for cyclists and advanced cycling infrastructure helps people get around by bike with ease and safely.
Cycle paths; around where we are it’s buggy, wheelchair and cycle friendly and the seafront is cycle friendly, which makes such a difference. People are never going to cycle in numbers on the road or put their children at risk on the roads, so the infrastructure must be there to help people get healthy and enjoy this outdoor sport. It is great round here in Shoreham, but there are still sections that aren’t that great and it puts people off doing it, which is a real shame.
